How Are You? Do you feel Overwhelmed, Stressed or Hopeless? Are you dealing with relationship problems, depression, work problems, anxiety, an unruly teenager, retirement or an aging parent? Are you looking for deeper meaning and mastery in relationships and your work life?
If the old ways of coping and problem solving are not working, you may be ready for a new approach! Accepting you right where you are with compassion and a mindful presence are the cornerstone of my practice.
Utilizing mindfulness creates an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding. This approach helps us relate to life’s struggles as a guide. CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) keeps us on track: identifying the work to engage and monitoring our effectiveness. CBT has a multitude of interventions: cognitive, behavioral, relational, motivational and habit based.
As an Alcohol and Drug counselor, FOCUS therapist, and group home counselor, I gained extensive experience helping adolescents and their families work thru addiction, depression, post traumatic stress disorder and invalidating communication problems. My focus was primarily with families enmeshed in inter generational poverty, the courts, child protective services, mental health services and drug and alcohol dependency. Over 90% of the families I worked with have had great success in transforming their life circumstances; and overcoming years of abuse and generations of suffering.
I have worked with adults, older adults and families coping with mental health and medical diagnosis, work problems, relationship challenges, care-giving and hospice needs. My specialty is transforming relationship and life conflict into meaningful understanding and change in an atmosphere of open and accepting mindfulness.
Whether you experience depression or anxiety, or are frustrated with habits that feel good in the moment but are causing suffering, I have the tools and expertise to help.
